Energy Bar Review: Larabar Blueberry Muffin

After instating regular snack times in my daily life as an effort to reduce starvation and subsequent stuffing my face, it seems my body now expects comestibles every few hours, at the most. Either that, or I’m just bored at work and eating is the best hobby ever. Afternoon snack at work:

I’ve come to the conclusion that Larabar titles are deceiving. They come up with enticing names such as Cherry Pie, Apple Cobbler, Peanut Butter Cookie, Cashew Cookie, and Blueberry Muffin that conjure up images of precious treats when in reality the bars have no ingredients remotely related to flour or baked goods. Where does the “cookie” element of Cashew Cookie come in when the ingredients are solely nuts and fruits? Admittedly, “nut and fruit puree,” which is what any given Larabar essentially is, doesn’t sound as appetizing. But they should have a disclaimer stating that the bars are not even close to imitating the fabulous full-blown desserts after which they are named.

My rating: 3/5.
