Museum of Science

Our Friday afternoons are low-key because we don't have computer lab. Yesterday, we took a trip to the Museum of Science. Stats campers + nerdy museum = bliss! Somehow, museums just make three to four hours of the day simply disappear.

The best museums are those that have live animals, not just stuffed models. We also got tickets to see Born to be Wild in the Omni theater. Omni is a form of Imax that consists of a huge dome screen that wraps around your hold field of vision so that you are completely immersed in the action. The movie featured the separate stories of two women and the centers they founded to raise orphaned orangutans and elephants in Indonesia and Kenya, respectively. As expected, the movie was heartwarming and gave me warm and fuzzy feelings inside, a good ending for the museum tour.   

Five of us decided to take a desperately needed break from the BU dining hall and strolled to Thai restaurant Montien near the Boston Commons for dinner.

The entrees came in giant colorful plates. I polished off a substantial portion of it, but had some leftovers in a conscious effort not to make myself uncomfortably full. A lovely evening, culinary-wise.  

Oh yeah: on the way to the restaurant, I snapped a photo of Romeo and Julian, the gay swan couple who lives in the Boston Gardens. Bostonians thought it was "Romeo and Juliet" for the longest time until they discovered both birds were male. So, now it's Romeo and Julian happily ever after. 

Another full day of walking! I can feel my legs becoming more muscly by the day, which is not necessarily desirable but denotes the ample amount of exercise we are getting.
